I heard that reading improves ur vocabulary, social skills and intellect, i was wondering if this is true. and if it is by how much does it.Is it true that reading increases ur knowledge?
Of course it does, if you retain what you have read. If you don't remember what the paragraph you just read said, read it out loud. That way, you are not only seeing it but are hearing the words. With a little practice you will remember and learn. As far as social skills, it will give you some knowledge of whatever subject has interest for you, because you have already read and 'heard' about it. Try this little exercise, it will help.Is it true that reading increases ur knowledge?
yes it does...but it also depends on what u r reading
Yes. My parents taught me to read when I was 4. It made school easy. If you can read and have good literacy skills, you can look up information, find answers, and have the world at your fingertips. I now have a job that requires a bachelor's degree but I have a high school diploma and they accepted my experience in lieu of the degree. My last three jobs have been this way, and I credit my literacy.
yes
Not just any reading...but good serious reading does. Not plodding stuff like War and Peace or The Gulag Archipelago, but great historical novels by guys like Wilbur Smith and Ken Follet are awesome. There is so much to be learned by reading that the time spent is well worth it.
Yes it is true. It varies by individuals but runs from 25% to 60% increase.
Try reading a chapter a day of any non-illustrated book, and also reading a page a day of a large dictionary.
