Is it true all of your knowledge based on one sided Meida which works for Peace lover Americans ?

This may apply to you.

Just look at your post where you got basic factual information wrong regarding Al Quaeda and the US and Iran.Is it true all of your knowledge based on one sided Meida which works for Peace lover Americans ?
Nope. I have no sympathy for Americans. Peace loving or not (are there even peace loving americans?)Is it true all of your knowledge based on one sided Meida which works for Peace lover Americans ?
hey broken antibi - kiss my ***

';Enthusiasm is a substitute for knowledge';. Is it true????

No, but it can be a substitute for intelligence. A person who brings curiosity and energy to a project or subject will almost always get better results than a more intelligent person who's bored with it. Knowledge, however, is a different story-- if you don't have it you'll have to get it. There's no substitute.';Enthusiasm is a substitute for knowledge';. Is it true????
No cliche is true. None are false, either.

I do think it's true that people who think cliches and sententiae and other sound-bites are worth discussing are shallow. Share that with your professor :-)';Enthusiasm is a substitute for knowledge';. Is it true????
it's true until you meet an enthuiastic fool
Enthusiasm is a rapture of a particular knowledge over another.

It is a passion and thus separate from knowledge, but it is not a substitute.
No. Without enthusiasm learning would feel crap.
This saying sometimes works for employers. But not always. It depends on the job the enthusiastic employee is going to be doing. Usually a manual labor position, or something like receptionist.
No. Enthusiasm is the strong disire to something which you do it happily , full of energy. Knowledge is the range of one's information or understanding .
All of us lack knowledge. Enthusiasm is the necessary soil in which it can grow. Pretty hard to learn something you are not enthusiastic about studying.

BTW - ';enthusiasm'; comes from the ancient Greek meaning ';In God.'; Being enthusiastic is being under divine influence and thus the fount of all knowledge.
no it is not!

it is the foundation of knowledge!

How true is it that ignorance is bliss and knowledge sorrow?

If I told you the answer, you'd become very very sad.

Is knowledge always true?

If the individual considers it to be knowledge, then that individual considers it to be true.

Subjectively, yes, Knowledge is always true.Is knowledge always true?
';Knowing'; may not be true but the word ';knowledge'; is used for the true things. Sometimes I become puzzled though! I know two guys: one is a young engineer who had all the academic courses on car-engine %26amp; opened a motor workshop. The other one is an old guy who had his workshop from his early-hood. Both of them had 'knowledge' on cars! Unfortunately, people relied on the old one who never appeared in any academic courses on car-technology! I can't understand the reason behind! (Please, do not mention the question of experiences; since we are talking on knowledge.)Is knowledge always true?
Yes. If it isn't true, then it's an assumption or belief, not knowledge. Though people can assume or believe that they know something when really they don't, of course.
By definition, knowledge is a true, warranted belief. So yes.
How can you know anything?

Is not knowledge not just inference?
';There's nothing you can know that can't be known';.

-The Beatles, ';All You Need Is Love';
It could be... You'll never know until you die..
It is...Until is is not.
Nope. It simply isn't.
No, it is not.

Imagination is more important than knowledge.is it true?

Some people believe so, I think they're equally important. Without knowledge we can't realize the goals our imagination gives us.Imagination is more important than knowledge.is it true?
It all depends, I would say. If you have a great deal of both, I dare say you're in good shape, but if you have a grand imagination and no knowledge, you're really no further forward than a child (Which isn't a bad thing if you really think about it...how many of us would live to be a kid again?). If you have all knowledge and no imagination, you likely have a pretty miserable life.

Just my humble opinion. :)Imagination is more important than knowledge.is it true?
If Einstein said it, it's gotta be true.
Imagination certaintly is more sacred, but everything must be in moderation. To have no knowlege and a huge amount of imagination wouldn't be the best thing in the world. The same applies vice versa. To have no imagination and have quite a bit of knowlege makes you boring. You musn't tip the scales.
False, neither works efficiently without the other. They work best when used together.
Can you imagin such a thing. without knowedge how can you possibly know what to imagin.

Imagination is what we all have and those with the knoledge to know what to do with it are the ones that truely succede.

How do you supose Bill Gates became the richest. Yes he is intelegent. It was the combination of what he knew and what he could imagin. He had some very good ideas but he also had the knoledge and drive to make them work.

Knowledge without imagination is enough to get by with. Imagination without knoledge will get you no place.
imagination is a virtue but so is knowledge it all depends when and where
Intelligence is more important. I don't care if you have the biggest imagination in the world, if you are as dumb as a rock there is no helping you.

It is best to have both. The knowledge to pursue your dreams.
    yes, sugar plum!
I like to day dream but it's all ways when I have to learn something Important like at work, here are the safty exits?

2 months on the job and still have not found the safty exits to scared to ask my boss about not listing.

    ';Quack'; says the German ';Quack';.

Which of the following is true for knowledge (jnan) and Bhakti(Selfless devotion for the God with Love )?

    a. knowledge and bhakti are independent to each other

    b. one who has knowledge will definetely go for bhakti

    c. one who is Bhakta will definetely attain the knowledge

    d. it is not necessary that a bhakta will attain the knowledge and knowledgeable person will become Bhakta ,but it depends upon the desire of someone

    e. None of the above ,Hence your opinion please

HARE KRISHNA ,HARE KRISHNA ,KRISHNA KRISHNA ,HARE HARE,HARE RAMA ,HARE RAMA ,RAMA RAMA ,HARE HAREWhich of the following is true for knowledge (jnan) and Bhakti(Selfless devotion for the God with Love )?
Mere Bahthi is blind belief .It may e right or wrong .god himself has advised this Bhathi Marga to people of average intelligence .Gnana marg is the highest way to aattqin God .god himself is wisdom.Bhakthi based on Gnana is the true and knowledgeable /bhakthi.Gnana will lead to sure and real bhakthiWhich of the following is true for knowledge (jnan) and Bhakti(Selfless devotion for the God with Love )?
In hinduism, there are 3 ways to reach God, namely..knowledge(jnan), Karma (action) and Bhakti(devotion).

in knowledge, you try to ascertain God to suit your intellect. You learn, argue, convince about supremacy of God.

In karma, your actions are divinity-oriented. you work just enough to earn your livelihood, you don't evaluate anybody financially etc..Kabir, king janak are the best examples of karma yogis.

In bhakti, you don't try to evaluate god anyhow-just accept him as supreme and chant mantra/devotional songs, bhajans, kirtans etc..you intend to get lost in divinity. Mira is the most prominent bhakti-yogini the history has witnessed.

since in Bhakti, you start with surrendering, in my opinion, it is the easiest and the best.
Love human being universally and use your knowledge to the service of mankind.
    i didnt understand what you mean by ';a';

    b and c are right

each path is complete in itself

    remember Krishna says- ';the one who gets situated in any one, gets fruit of both';

';this yog is free of sins and even if one starts and does not finish , he gets the result'; ; and then he goes explaining how a ';bhrashta yogi'; soon reaches his destination in next life
hare krishna hare krishna krishna krishna hare hare
A person who takes any specific path like Jnana, Bhakti, Raja Yoga, Karma Yoga will attain all the others. If a person is travelling in Jnana path then he will obtain Karma Yoga, Bhakti, Raja Yoga etc .

Consider a Jnana Yogi like Ramana Maharshi! Isn't he a Karma Yogi, Isn't he a Bhakta of Lord Shiva and he even realized the ultimate ideal of Raja Yoga-Samadhi.

Belief has been desribed as '; certainty about what cannot be seen';. Is this true in any areas of knowledge?

By areas of knowledge i mean ie: science, maths, religion,...

SO,does this statment hold true in ANY, SOME, Or ALL areas of knowledge?Belief has been desribed as '; certainty about what cannot be seen';. Is this true in any areas of knowledge?
it's certainly true when it comes to religionBelief has been desribed as '; certainty about what cannot be seen';. Is this true in any areas of knowledge?
Belief is a personal commitment to a set of ideas.

The set of ideas may be real, like science: or delusional, like religion.

    It is still Belief.
Belief is to identify with something or someone to feel a part of it and feel it to be a part of you.

With no evidence or current rational fact.

A belief ultimately needs believers. Therefore may have no independent existence.

It has no place in scientific exploration. If it does appear at all as a possibility based on current knowledge, such as a theory or speculation. Then it said to be so.

A theory is what it is.

In belief the only certainty you have is that you have no certainty.
You may be mixing knowledge with faith.

You can know things that can be proven, like math and science.

You must accept on faith things that can't be proven, like God exists and God has a plan.
Belief is related to truth. It is our understanding of what we can see and what we can't see. My beliefs may be different to yours yet we both believe in what we understand to be true.

    Facts are something different.
That is a wrong definition of belief.

Belief is something a person holds to be true.

A justified true belief is called knowledge[1].

A belief that is not justified is often called ';blind faith';.
Maybe its our way of filling in the gaps between the facts in order to form a usable map of the world, one in which we feel comfortable and can function. For sure this applies to religion, and I bet in science too there are vast tracts of ';givens'; which allow people to make logical assumptions and step closer to the truth.

Please only people with true Islamic knowledge answer this question?

My younger sister is married and her husband is a convert as well her highschool reunion is coming up and she has asked me to go as her protector, her husband does not want to go because he does not want to take the chance that they will have alcohol there which is something he struggled with before accepting Islam. so my sister wants to go and I want to be her protector but i am not so sure I want to be around Alcohol and people drinking, (I don't drink and i don't go to pubs, bars, and clubs, for that reason) so as a muslim first and her brother i will go for her, but Islamicly should I be going? as a side not to this my wife is uneasy about me going as well and she stopped just short of forbidding me to go...Please only people with true Islamic knowledge answer this question?
do not goPlease only people with true Islamic knowledge answer this question?
I think God won't care if you go unless if you drink, it's not a sin to be around someone drinking unless you encouraged him, God always looks on what inside u not where r u or how u look like

    Additional to Deedat:

Comeon we are in the 21st Centery who cares what they wear, as long as he won't break the Islam rules then he is good to go,

Islam rules: at the party do not drink, do not have sex with any ad go have fun and see ur friends, you havn't seen them since high school
tell your sister did not go.

did she should go to that place?

    Attending Graduation Ceremonies

Is participating in graduation ceremonies haraam?

    Praise be to Allaah.

If the graduation ceremony included disobedience, it becomes haram to attend or witness. Some of the common disobedience that takes place in these ceremonies: Music and the marching of the graduates to it; Uncovered women and mixing with men; the graduation dress which is in imitation of disbelievers (such as church dress). And Allaah knows best.

    Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid
My best advice is tell your sister, to understand her husband reasons for not attending this high school reunion because he admits his weakness. Your sister must be proud of him and stick with him, not to attend high school reunion because she wants to see her friends. See them some other time. Your Husband is a convert and don鈥檛 put false desires into his brain because this could result ugly.

If both had attended the Shaytan would have welcomed him back to his den. Tell your sister to stick put with him (husband) and do it for him and please Allah. I hope my answer makes good sence. Peace my brother.

True-Justified-Belief, why are all 3 components necessary for knowledge and why none of the 3 are sufficient?

Think of it as the existence of an object (e.g., a distant planet).

It could be true that such a planet exists--maybe one just pass Uranus (since Pluto is now not considered a planet). Objectively, saying that the planet exists is true but not sufficient.

If one finds evidence to justify the assertion that their is such a planet, then it is not only true but also justified (by some reason or rationale). This, however, is not sufficient.

At last, we need to have belief in the justification (e.g., find no logical flaws in its methods or see that it is, in fact, a justification of the object/truth). Thus, only then, do we have the totality of conditions for it to be sufficient.True-Justified-Belief, why are all 3 components necessary for knowledge and why none of the 3 are sufficient?
There's a famous article on this that's only a couple of pages long. I think you might find it helpful; there are some great examples. I've linked it in my sources below.

Please ignore it if you find it confusing. I don't know what level of philosophy you're at, and I don't want to make this any more difficult than it already is.

  • Do you think true wisdom or knowledge should be hidden in riddles and parables?

Thinking of the vagueness of the bible and the vast number of interpretations, makes me consider that any real truth should be plain. Wrapping ideas in infinitely twistable stories makes no sense. Shouldn't the truth of things be simple?Do you think true wisdom or knowledge should be hidden in riddles and parables?
These stories were told to teach people the value of a complex set of principles in a simple way.

But, yes the varied interpretations that have come out with time has layered their true content with a kinda flowery complexity.

These riddles or parables can guide us to some extent but the greater part of the journey has to be determined by ourselves by seeking for the untapped stores of wisdom within our self.Do you think true wisdom or knowledge should be hidden in riddles and parables?
Yes, I agree. You need to get a bible which is translated almost exactly how it was written, rather then the way the King Jimmy bible writes it.
    It works for me.
it is plain... you just fail to understand it

    so who's fault is it?
';Those who cannot feel the littleness of great things in themselves are apt to overlook the greatness of little things in others.'; ~Kakuzo Okakura
Had to be otherwise it would never have gotten past the censorship of society through history. In fact much of it has been severely modified.
God alledgedly managed some straight-forward language in the Commandments. ';Thou shalt not...'; really isn't open to interpretation. So why would he intentionally allow a confusing Bible? It makes no sense.
    No.

    Don't think so.

Just living human kind did not master our creator's universal communication system

Were living in misery with faulty communication system.

How those who wrote all the cheap-skate ghostly stories back in the past caught themselves with pants down without being aware of it.

That was how the children all got caught without being aware of it.

    Luke 8.10,17

When living human kind do not even know how to create our creator's universal communication system.

    Luke 9.25,55-56,60

    What do you think?
The problem is, that truth is revealed in example. ';The Truth'; is so hard to pin down, and often so subjective that the only real way to illustrate it is with stories.

I think that if Jesus had come out and just said certain things the way they really are, people would have had more reason, room and confidence in disputing what he said.

If you look around, the ';wise men'; of any ancient culture communicated the same way. It just makes a bigger, and perhaps more emotional impact to tell a story about one lost sheep or about fruit laden branches.
Do you think true physics and mathematics knowledge should be hidden in those complicated formulas that make your brain hurt? Why isn't that easier?
As Plato said there is no such thing as wisdom or knowledge because if you ask someone enough questions they will finally admit that they dont know. So should lies be hidden in parables? No they should be told straight out
Christ said he spoke in parables to allow those that were ready to hear the message hear and understand it. Maybe some people cant quite grasp or follow a harder concept and throwing it at them when they arent ready would discourage their learning and faith instead of encouraging it.

If you tried to teach a 2nd grader algebra before they even had their multiplication tables down how frustrated would they get?
when those goat-herders wrote the bible, maybe they were smarter than we think they were. They came up with a brilliant way of creating enough confusion over their scripture that no one would ever be able to agree and the debate over translation and interpretation would rage on for millenia. Either that or they were spectacularly dumb, and just started pulling random fantasies out of the air...you know...like that whole Noah's Ark deal.
Gaia...it forces you to think on a deeper level and concentrate for meaning...think of this...you are at church and hear a sermon and think a friend of yours should have been there to hear it because it applies to them...NOW know this in that situation the person who thinks another should have heard the sermon is not correct...the sermon is for them and that is why they are hearing it...NOW back to your comment/question (the part about the different interpretations) each person perceives what they need to...I think it is given to your mind a certain way because that is how you need it...now some things are plain like thou shall not steal...and others require time and thought for revalation...
The thing I like about riddles and parables is that they are not black or white, but they fall within the whole spectum of gray. There already is truth and wisdom in the riddles and parables from all the corners of the Earth, so, ';should they,'; is moot.
Jesus spoke in parables to make it easier to explain Gods character to people. There is nothing vague about God's word. He is very clear on how much he loves us and wants a relationship with us. That is why he sent Jesus His son to die for YOU and me. He knew that was the only way a relationship between us could be restored. I hope you find Him for yourself.. Don't let the devil continue to deceive you with his lies.....
You'd think. But then they'd be easier to disprove. We wouldn't want a clear stupid message that can easily be discarded as useless, when a convoluted stupid message will survive the ages.
Every smart person likes a challenge , you know dig a little deeper ect...
You mean simple like this ??

Two parents of 6 year old children both decide to tell thier children the truth about Santa Claus.

    First parent says '; Jane there is no Santa Claus';

    Jane argues that there is.

He did tell the simple truth

Second Parent tells a tale of a fat man in a sleigh taking

gifts to all the homes in the world in just one night. Being sure

to emphasis the amount of toys and the size of the whole world.

    The 6 year old responds ';How does he do that ?';
One cannot cast pearls before swine...so, simply put, wisdom cannot be given to those who either will not understand it or who will not use it wisely. One must be ready to hear the powerful messages of Truth...and...to appply Truth as it is intended to be used. Over the ages, all wisdom teachings have been guarded and held to the responsible few...for exactly this reason. As it is said, ';When the student is ready, the teacher will appear,'; so it is true of that which is ';hidden'; to the masses...those who are ready will begin to discover the truth behind the riddles and parables. There are too many who subvert to selfish purposes all powers revealed to them. Those who are ';ready'; to hear Truth are those who discern no division or separation one from another, but are willing to apply the wisdoms to all beings, including to themselves...for the good of all. We must grow into preparedness, much as a kindergartener must evolve to high school readiness. Premature knowledge has no hope of perfect application.

    i am Sirius
It is easier to confuse the masses

    that way.
Writing to all sorts of people in different time periods and different nations would be/should be quite a task. Some of the problem is that the Bible has multiple purposes. It is a history lesson, morals teacher, and instrument of praise among others. I understand what you are saying that truth should be simple and clear. Yet, visit another country and you can see people thinking in whole different way, sometimes beyond comprehension. People so often ask why aren't all good people rewarded but good is defined differently by different people. Slave owners use to think that were doing good by taking people out of primitive societies and giving them a so called civilized life. I think that what ever awaits us is beyond comprehension and what we see written is colored by our experiences in life. There are some favorites of mine and that is the comparison of building your life like one would build a house upon a good foundation and giving the government their due and God his due.

Is it correct Joel Osteen is not TRUE christian and give false knowledge, even tho based on Bible and he's very?

    appealing?

he CLAIMS to be based on Bible ......and some of verses he uses may be there just taken out of context.

when seeing what God says in Bible EVERY verse on that subject has to be understood.

the book says not to add to or take from it鈥檚 words.

    they leave OUT ......a LOT!

hard to see what someone doesn鈥檛 say.

and the things they believe about hell are false? Is it correct Joel Osteen is not TRUE christian and give false knowledge, even tho based on Bible and he's very?
he doesn't ever say the word sin in his preachings. he thinks its to harsh in my view.

    He preaches a false gospel.

He teaches the Prosperity Gospel and not the gospel of Jesus Christ. Gives false hope and distorts the meaning of many things in the text in my perspective and of what i have seen in his teachings.

He is very much a false witness. You should watch his interview with Larry King on youtube. He is pathetic and wont step up to the plate. Is it correct Joel Osteen is not TRUE christian and give false knowledge, even tho based on Bible and he's very?
I don't think the Olsteens are that bad. They really are Christians and they believe what the preach. But Osteen is a businessman too. He will deliver sermons and make interpretations of the Bible based on what sells well to large audiences.

Not leaving out a word is about when printing or translating the bible. It would be impossible for a preacher to deliver a sermon based on the bible without leaving out a word unless you expect him just to stand there and read from it verbatim which would not help most people understand anything. Besides, there have been multiple versions of most Biblical stories including the gospels. What we call the Bible was compiled over hundreds of years. I think the focus on reading EVERY verse literally is a type of fundamentalism.
i believe he is a phony. not only does he take away and add to the word... he is so freaking fake. nobody is that happy. being a Christian does NOT promise constant happiness, in fact it is HARD. it will bring tribulation and challenges and temptations that hurt to go through. but though it's hard... you always have a peace that surpassed all understanding.

even the fact that his church is so ginormous gives him away. a true Christian offends a lot of people, because they expose truth. and like i said before... it's not easy to be a Christian. a lot of people give up the fight, or never start it because they don't want to go against their sins. Joel Osteen is just a people pleaser. he has no substance to him.
Joel Osteen is a false witness, he's one of the worst. I know this because I compare what he says to the HOLY Word of God.

    1John 4:1

    ';Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.';
I will agree that his ';feel good'; messages lack substance and his use of scripture is very limited and trite.

I guess I would say that at the very least, he feeds his flock poorly. I hesitate to call him a false witness because I've never heard him say anything that goes against the word and he does say the Jesus is the Son of God and came to earth as a God/man. Just that his message his very shallow, seems like he justs serves milk and no meat.

    William, good points, I agree.

Calling Joel a false witness could very well be blaspheming the Holy Spirit. Something that Christians don't want to do.
    Joel is a Christian.

I would not be too quick to exclude others whom God accepts.

    ';Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. ';

    Romans 14:4
i really don't care for him i remember i was watching his show because i was bored and he kept talking about reaching into your pocket for money for the church or something and some who really wanted to promote jesus' message he wouldn't care about money.
Ultimately it doesn't matter, since everything in the bible is false. But yes- he's obviously a salesman getting very rich off of stupid people.
    He's a con-man/salesman

just like every other preacher who promise things they can't deliver
all the evangelical christians are crooks spreading lies. it's as simple as that.

Just because Bush said something you don't agree with, does not a lie make. Do your research.
Clinton had an affair. If he can cheat on his wife then who knows...maybe he would cheat on his country.

i'd rather have a president with morals then a president who is busy having an affair while he is supposed to be running a country.

Is it true that Adam got the knowledge by eating the restricted fruit?

Earlier(before they change this) because Adam has eaten the fruit, christianity has made knowledge to be 'illegal' to the human kind?I read somewhere...Is it true that Adam got the knowledge by eating the restricted fruit?
Christianity claims that knowledge is available, and that knowledge is good. Christian doctrine does not make the acquisition of knowledge illegal, or place a restriction on knowledge. Is it true that Adam got the knowledge by eating the restricted fruit?
Well obviously God did not want us to be enlightened, else he wouldn't of had a cow when they ate from the apples. But Satan convinced them to eat from it. So I guess we can credit Satan for our enlightenment.

Personally I like being enlightened. So I guess... thanks Satan?
God told Adam if he ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil that he would surely die. That is Adams punishment death since we are all children of Adam we must also receive his punishment.
Knowledge wasn't the problem. It was the knowledge of good AND EVIL that was the problem.

Before the fall Adam had no idea what evil was, how it worked, or how powerful it was.

God tells us to love Him with all our minds.(Deut 6)

If we aren't using our entire minds to worship Him, we are not worshipping Him as we're supposed to. I find the more I use my mind the more my faith grows.

    God is good!
Adam and Eve received the knowledge of good and evil and died spiritually and physically as the Lord had warned them. Sin was passed down to the human race through Adam but Christ the only begotten son of God, bore those sins in his body and physically rose from the grave and freely gives us eternal life by simply believing in him.
Yesss, after I talked Eve into eating the fruit, sssshe talked Adam into it.

I only wanted the bessst for them. Honessst.
No. The fruit in the garden was not the fruit you or I would pick from a tree. It is, in the literal sense the seduction of Eve by Lucifer, Satan that serpent the Devil. It's plainly spelled out in the original text. Get a Strong's Concordance and learn how to use it, before you try to make sense out of a translation in a language you're not versed in. God bless.
no knowlege isnt illegal or anything, but too much knowledge isnt good for you, because it made them think they were Gods.

  • Poll: Is it true that knowledge...is like climbing a mountain...?

...the higher you reach the more you can see and appreciate?

Kinda wondering ...your thoughts!Poll: Is it true that knowledge...is like climbing a mountain...?
Step by step, mile after mile, remember, no need to take a shopping basket, it will not hold it, thoughts and desires have a tendency to drop through those little squares, so just carry them within.Poll: Is it true that knowledge...is like climbing a mountain...?
I would think knowledge is the tools and equipment needed to climb any mountain. Knowledge does not necessarily appreciate anything per say.

I know a lot about history but that knowledge does not make me like or love war. Just that humanity can over come the vilest of circumstances. So My knowledge and use of it is not to climb a certain mountain called war.

It is used to climb alongside humanity and faith and how it can triumph anything or any mountain in this world.

Yes, knowledge is the tools this mountain climber needs in life.

Despite the inclement weather that hinders my daily progress!

All mountains are climbable with knowledge. It is just that some days because of the foggy surroundings, one is better staying in base camp and learning more about the objective.
May I play devils advocate here?

On the flip side of that coin ... the higher you go the thinner the air which can disorient one too. The Bible warns against being puffed up. I've known many who have a great deal of knowledge and like to flaunt it or beat others over the head with it. Which becomes a discredit to them.

I say stretch as high as you can but keep your feet firmly planted on the ground along with your head ... if you catch my drift.
I have heard of religion described as being like a mountain. This was to convey that there could be many paths to the same point. It could also be thought of with your analogy. The higher we climb the mountain, the more we can see. I can say that I would agree with this.
    knowledge...is power of mind
    Yes, open up your bible.
    I wouldn't know,I'm a moron!And I'm afraid of heights!

Minibulldogs, to my knowledge, are english bulldog bread with a pug. Evrything says this has less prblms-True?

I am looking into getting a mini bulldog, which to my knowledge is an english bulldog bread with a pug. This supposedly has less problems than a traditional English Bulldog. Is there any truth to this?

    Check this out for reference:

    http://www.mbcoa.org/

    Thanks for your help

JoshMinibulldogs, to my knowledge, are english bulldog bread with a pug. Evrything says this has less prblms-True?
Possibly the worse crossbreeding anyone could ever attempt - both breeds are known for severe respiratory problems because of their flat faces, numerous skin conditions and hip problems. Combining two such breeds could never make the mix healthier. If you want a healthy Bulldog or Pug, buy from a responsible breeder who only breeds healthy dogs, not someone who tries to mix the two.

The link you've provided though actually says that the 'club' does not endorse mixing Bulldogs with any other breed - they're simply breeding small Bulldogs, which is still problematic in itself.Minibulldogs, to my knowledge, are english bulldog bread with a pug. Evrything says this has less prblms-True?
It clearly states on their website that these are english bulldogs selected for a small size and that they do not condone hybrids of english bulldogs (mixed with pug, boston terriers etc). Any of the brachycephalic breeds (short faced) are likely to have problems and I don't think that overall miniature english bulldogs will have fewer problems then any other brachycephalic breed. Be prepared to spend a lot of money to buy a bulldog and then at least twice that on vet bills. I love my english and french bulldogs but if I wasn't a vet i couldn't afford to keep all 4.
Please don't buy into this ';designer'; puppy. The miniture bulldog is not a breed of dog. It sounds like they take the smallest bulldogs and are breeding them to keep making smaller bulldogs. There is something wrong with this. According to the AKC, the bulldog has a standard, they are taking dogs that do not meet AKC standards and breeding them. I totally disagree with this. Pick either a purebred bulldog or a purebred pug. I have never heard of mixing the two, but do your research on the breeds, and pick one. Don't buy the ';designer'; puppy.
according to the MBCOA they do not accept hybrid mix for the MB. they are against it. it sounds like a young club working to improve the original MB. the MB were very popular in France many yrs. ago. if you are thinking of one keep in mind as the club says they are just bred down versions of the reg. bulldog. i can't see how you would get fewer health problems.

they caution against buying from ad's or Internet. that is where you get the hybrids. if you are interested then get the real thing from a club breeder.
A pug and a bulldog is just a mix..No such thing as a mini bulldog...There are English bulldogs French bulldogs and American bulldogs a mix is just a mix with a fancy name and a big over priced amount for a mix dog...Save your money don't fall for those lies of so called breeders there goal is to rip people off choose what breed you want and go for it don't get pipped off...
Well I am on the other end of everyone else.. I have owned two bull-pugs, boy and girl. If you go to www.dogbreedinfo.com my little one is the dog that comes up on the page. Mine were a little different i what they are actually mixed with. yes they are bulldog and pug but the mom and dad were also bull-pug, so it wasnt like just breeding a bulldog and pug father, they were 5th generation so way back is when the two individual breeds were mixed together. I also think that it is not a wise idea to mix two of any breed that are known or prone to have health issues. People mix boston terrier, pug, and french bulldogs with the english to have them ';stay small';. no such thing, you ar just getting a health problem on down the road. I do have to tell you though, I never had a problem with my Marian as far as any health related problems. She did just pass March 3rd and she had developed an enlarged heart, but she was the best dog ever!!!!! I rescued my girl and boy so they werent bred to death. I have pure bred English Bulldogs(4) also and let me tell you the vet bills can be crazy for them.

I guess it is up to you to take the chance on getting a mix and then having tons of health problems. who knows you may get one like me who never has an issue..
UGH!!! are you kidding me? ANOTHER designer mutt? wow, i could never win. IT'S A MUTT! don't pay 39047234 dollars for a mutt.

But to answer your question no it won't be a healthy dog at all since both bulldogs and pugs have flat faces they have alot of respiratory problems.
ok look up pug deseise and defects the list is loger then the bull dog pugs are more breed then the bull dogs who can range for a pet up to 3000 a pug top price even for show would be 1200-1500 for a pet 600-800
HMMMM... i have never heard of these dogs until now, but the first answer is correct. the smaller, the more health issues. i would be very careful.
    Major falsehood.

Breeding for small size, especially in a breed already faced with numerous genetic issues, creates very unhealthy dogs.

What should be our most concern in these last day, be in one of 100 religions, or have true bible knowledge?

~Religion is not of God, it is man-made. Having a one-to-one relationship with God the creator and living his word should be our most concern. Love is the greatest commandment. What should be our most concern in these last day, be in one of 100 religions, or have true bible knowledge?
Both are important for differing reasons. Will you believe the religion whose writings document 3,000 fulfilled prophesies? Then (if you are a Jew), accept Jesus as your Messiah (you will remain a Jew, by the way); if you are a Gentile, become a Christian.

Once faith exists, you must become a disciple by studying God's Word, the Bible, and practicing what you learn. Faulty knowledge and false doctrine have lead many folks astray. That's why it's so important to have true knowledge. What should be our most concern in these last day, be in one of 100 religions, or have true bible knowledge?
To be comfortable and happy knowing what you believe and holding steadfast to that. Do not let anyone tell you that what you have chosen to believe is wrong.

If you are unsure, check around, do some research, and make your own decision.
How arrogant to think theses are the last days. Why are you so important that all of humanity had to wait for you to come along and witness these last days?

True bible knowledge is an oxymoron.
Be an atheist and don't worry about it :) There are no ';last days';. Unless you're 90 years old, then you should enjoy your last days and die happy.
Neither Your biggest concern should be that you have been redeemed through the blood of Christ so that you can spend eternity with Him in Heaven instead of in the abyss of hell
Humans primary concerns should be with eliminating reliance on oil.

Our secondary concerns should be developing effective, realistic solutions to unsustainable population growth world-wide.

The other concerns should resolve themselves when the first two are resolved.

The bible %26amp; religon are equally useless for solving problems and should be ignored as a basis for doing anything of practical value.

People who believe the bible to be an accurate predictor of current or future events should be assigned to menial chores in remote areas so they cannot contaminate anyone else. Bible belief should be treated as an infectious disease. It is the source of much misery in the world. And hinders effective solutions to world problems.
It is more important to have true Bible knowledge.
at least believe in one God

Hair grows faster when you get the right amount of sleep you need.

Yes, hair grows in much darker and heavier when you shave it.

Make-up is very bad for your skin. It clogs pores.

Sun tanning doesn't make you wrinkle.

Zits can develop that way because of stress hormones. Are any of these true, Please answer with whatever knowledge you have, please?
While I can't answer most of your questions exactly, because some of them depend upon the person, I can tell you this:

Tanning can defiantly cause you to get wrinkles!

Every time you tan, your technically burning yourself. Repeated burns, even minor ones, can lead to worrying effects in the long run, such as withered skin and the appearance of wrinkles.
Theb color or hair is not influenced by shaving

Tanning cause damage to the skin that can, in the longer term, cause wrinkles

    Worrying does not cause acne.

    Knowledge is justified true belief?

Who agrees or disagrees with that statement and why?

    Just curious.

    ToodlesKnowledge is justified true belief?
    No

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gettier_pro鈥?/a>

If Smith has a justified belief that Jones will get the job after the interview, and Jones has 10 cents in his pocket, then Smith has a justified belief that a man with 10 cents in his pocket will get the job. As it turns out, Smith gets the job, and he just happens to have 10 cents in his pocket. So his justified belief is also true. But coincidence is not knowledge.

    =====

You don't go from ad populum arguments, and lack of proof to the conclusion: knowledge IS TJB. Should I add false authority to the list? The epistemological world changed after the Gettier paper, but there's no knock-down program for tracking justification. And since ';justification'; is the only interesting part of knowledge, and we can't ever get it right, because there's always instances of knowledge outside the justification parameters... we either have to say 1) justification requires conditions beyond our ability or 2) knowledge doesn't reduce to TJB, because justification is not analyzable. And if (1) then we have skepticism as an outcome. And if (2) then what IS knowledge such that it is analyzable?

Hint: contextual ';knowledge'; is not knowledge.Knowledge is justified true belief?
KNowledge is different from belief. Thats why the saying, ';seeing is believing'; is a false statement.

Belief (believing) means you don't have the knowledge or have seen something, but somebody told you that you can trust, and you believe him. Like religion for example, we believe what is taught by our parents about God, but we do not have direct knowledge, but we believe because we trust our parents.

Knowledge means you yourself have seen the fact or have personal encounter with something. For example, you have seen your neighbor stealing the bicycle of your other neighbor, then you have the knowledge and you do not have to believe. If you tell it to your friend, your friend believes (belief) in you but he does not have the knowledge about the stealing.

    Get it?
Just for the fun of it, I'll argue against.

The problem with ';justified'; belief is that people can justify almost anything, and when we wander into the realm of belief we are usually dealing with assertions which can neither be proven nor be disproven. Most people seem to deal with that by trying to construct proofs anyway; see all the silly ';proofs'; of God's existence or non-existence that float around.

One could try to substitute ';well-justified'; but that would simply reduce the field to matters which are really subject to proof, and very little of what is true really falls in that category. The insertion of the word ';true'; simply begs the question; it offers no basis for deciding whether it applies, other than one's opinions or beliefs, so it introduces circularity.

';Knowledge'; is a comprehension, understanding, or familiarity. Its basis is experience. Unfortunately, too much knowledge can often lead to a failure to appreciate the limits to one's degrees of certainty. A beginner may consider possibilities that more experienced people fail to recognize.

Those who claim that they have ';knowledge'; tend to try to extend that claim to possession of absolute truth, and they tend to wind up, eventually, being wrong. (Long before then, they tend to wind up being annoying.)
That assetion has been around so long that it has practically become the definition. That's sort of the way meanings of words work. Today, most people mean something pretty similar to that when they talk about knowledge. David Lewis and a few others disagree, but Lewis' system ends up reducing to everything that's true being knowledge, so it doesn't really make sense. It's one of his two worst arguments, in my opinion. (His analysis of the grandfather paradox is the other.)

Most of the debate today is over what justifies a true belief enough to make it knowledge. That's a much harder question. I would tend to argue that knowledge is vague, and different degrees of justification lead to different degrees of knowledge. Peter van Inwagin is one of the chief champions of vagueness in general. I don't know about this area specifically.

    Edit: Bong C,

I don't always respond to other people's answers, but when you wrote me the following e-mail:

    ';your comment is non-sense. See my explaination on knowledge and belief';

I felt that justified a response, even though this is not among my better answers.

There is nothing inherently wrong with your definition of belief, but it is not the way it is typically used. That is a way it is used, but not the most common. By belief, we typically mean something someone thinks is true, regardless of why they think it. Some beliefs are reasoned and some are taken on faith. Using ';I believe'; as a modifier before a sentence certainly indicates that your belief is something less than knowledge, but this isn't a necessary relationship. Most statements of fact are said to assert beliefs without using the word ';believe';.

In fact, your example of the expression ';seeing is believing'; supports this argument. Whether it is a technically true statement, it is evidence of how the term ';belief'; is used in language, and thus evidence of it's meaning.

When a belief is reasoned, the belief is stronger, and if there is sufficient reason, we think we know the subject of the belief to be true. However, most think that to be knowledge, it is not enough that we think we know something, it must also be true.

All three prongs, true, reasoned, and belief are subject to debate. Your view of belief is certainly not unheard of as a challenge to the most widely accepted theory. I would argue that usage has evolved partly in response to the pervasiveness of the idea that knowledge is a true reasoned belief. Your challenge may have been stronger at some point in the past, though I'm not sure. Today, it is pretty widely (but not universally) accepted that belief is anything that one asserts is true, regardless of the reasons.

There are plenty of challenges to the truth aspect as well, and I've discussed my view on what truth is in other threads. It's too involved to get into here.

Most challenges center on what justified means. There is tremendous debate about that and I offered a possible answer based partially on the work of van Inwagin, but I offer no real defense of that theory, I present it just as an idea to be debated.

    Brief response to -.-:

Most solutions to the Gettier Problem, and other challenges, reduce to arguing about what type of justification is required for knowledge. Solutions that don't work that way usually have serious troubles.

Of course it's always possible that there is no notion of knowledge which is both internally consistent and also captures the meaning to which we have assigned it, but I'm not ready to claim that based on the debate I've read so far.
Copernicus and Galileo ';knew'; that heliocentricity was correct. The mathematical epistomolgy of astronomy could not be wrong, given the knowledge available. [Which is to say, new knowledge someday may change our concept of heliocentricity to something else; HOWEVER, the epistemology used, given the facts available, led them to ';knowledge.';]

Such knowledge as this is not a belief of any sort. If it was a belief, Galileo would have to have told the Church Court that perhaps they were right, and he was wrong, because a belief is a belief.

  • Is it true that knowledge never tasted so good?

I love knowledge, It taste great. It Spiritually and intellectually satisfies this Deist with a B.A. in Anthropology. most Christians like to burn books about knowledge, like the Gnostic Gospels. Gnosis being Greek for Knowledge. Is it true that knowledge never tasted so good?
Adam and Eve ate the fruit and got the knowledge of good and bad. In the process they lost the garden. Now God being a fair god, this knowledge must have been valuable to trade for paradise. Therefore, the lesson for me is that we should preserve our right to choose and make decisions independent of others who wish to think for us.Is it true that knowledge never tasted so good?
Is that really the most that atheism has to offer is days filled with spreading hatred and misinformation about good, law-abiding, decent Christian people? Now I see why your religion has such a hard time recruiting people. That must be a miserable life.
Let's see... Adam and Eve tasted the fruit when told not to. Now we have the knowledge of sin first hand. Murder, Rape, War, Sickness, Death, Pain and the list goes on.

Kind of leaves a bad aftertaste to me.

Is this true about pi because if it is we can double our knowledge on the digits of pi?

is pi really 3pi backwards because if u use the method of Zuenic and apply it to pi it worksIs this true about pi because if it is we can double our knowledge on the digits of pi?
pi is irrational and hence goes forever with repetition (in any natural base). Since 3pi has a beginning, saying that pi is 3pi backwards would mean that pi has an end - this is blatantly false. Is this true about pi because if it is we can double our knowledge on the digits of pi?

Some will say ';read the book'; (whichever one). Ever heard of fiction?

As far as 'not having the knowledge' - you can't have knowledge of something that doesn't exist!
    your knowledge is blind!and pointless
I don't believe b/c I have too much knowledge and wisdom. THose with faith are blind to true knowledge. Do you have this little piece of knowledge in your head yet?

Ex 11:5 And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first born of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts.

11:6 And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more.

11:7 But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.

If that's true knowledge of god, no thanx
I only need read the first part of Genesis to recognize the shoddy nature of Biblical knowledge...
That is a bit too simplistic. The better response is to suggest that they get themselves into a good, bible preaching church. Most people have tried reading the bible and have trouble understanding it, and they get put off by the fact that it's not as straightforward as they think it should be.

It's up to us to help people understand, not by changing anything in it, as in some of the bibles that appear now, but, by helping them see what the bible DOES say and not adding OUR 2 cents worth.

They need to know that Jesus loves everyone, they need to know that they are sinners, and confess to their sins, and repent, and then they need to accept Jesus as their Saviour.. They need to know that they can't 'work' their way into heaven, they can't be baptized by proxy into heaven, that the only way to reach heaven is through our Lord Jesus.

    God Bless and Keep you.
The bible is a book of mythology so it is irrelevant what it claims.

Unfortunately for bible thumpers, there is no knowledge to be had that supports the bible myths or God belief.

    Atheism, the only logical choice.
False. I have the same knowledge as you. I have read the bible, the quran, the book of mormon and various other texts. I also have adequate knowledge of history, psychology, sociology, humanities and science. Based on what I have read in the theological texts I have come to the conclusion that deities do not exist. Actually you will find that most who do not believe have adequate knowledge of the bible since some of us were once practitioners of christianity at some point in our lives.
    Or the Quoran?
I have read the Bible....you are right that knowledge is power, but my education about religion leads me to not believe. It is every ones personal decision. Do not put others down because they do not think like you. Your bible teaches against that. Maybe you are the one that should read the bible.
This is why we need to go into all the world and preach the Gospel.
John 17:3 This means everlasting life their taking in knowledge of you the only true god and of the one whom you sent forth Jesus Christ.

Yes, knowledge of the bible is important for salvation.

Col 1:15 Rev 3:14 Where the Almighty God created the first spirit son Jesus and by means of him all other things in heaven and in earth was created. There were many spirit sons of God and some of those were wicked. Revelation 12: 7 Talks of a war that broke out in heaven and Micheal and his angels battled with the Devil and his angels. The Devil was thrown down to the earth and the wicked angels with him and it says woe for the earth the devil has come down to you knowing he has a short period of time. That is why the world is so wicked.
You people have a one track mind. Why don't you just be secure in your own beliefs and leave the rest of us the hell alone! We don't want your bashing because we don't believe the way you do. It's just that simple.
I have read the bible and i found it to be the most violent book i have ever read. Why would you bekieve in a god that kills people just for lack of belief. I do not believe in god because i dont believe in the tooth fairy.
Okay for some, but many have knowledge-yet do not believe. Could it be that some choose to not believe before they get knowledge? Mayby they think that they have ';other'; knowledge first?
The bible leads to a lack of knowledge. You perish due to natural selection.

What's truer'; knowledge is power or knowledge is virtuous?

I hate answering a question with a question...

Is ';truer'; a real word in the epistemological sense???What's truer'; knowledge is power or knowledge is virtuous?
It depends on the type of knowlege. Personal knowlege is virtuous. Virtue is a personal thing that u have to chose for yourself. Power is not something you can give yourself, it has to be given to you. If you dont control anything u dont have power. What u control has to give u the power by either submitting dominance or expressing need.

The publics knowledge of your knowledge can equel power. Its not what you know or other people knowing you. Its people knowing that you know what you know that creates respect and fear. Respect and fear are what create power. What's truer'; knowledge is power or knowledge is virtuous?
I would say that: knowledge is power, because you need knowledge to know what virtue is.

Is this not true about knowledge?

Salam AlaykomIs this not true about knowledge?

MashaAllah, that is brilliant wisdom shown by you my dear brother.

I think why we take knowledge for granted today is because it's so easily accessible that we choose not to hold onto it ourselves by assuming that the Internet, books etc will always have %26amp; preserve this knowledge so we choose not to commit it to memory. Also we find it harder to absorb and retain knowledge in this day and age because there is too much information everywhere, I mean there is volumes and volumes of information on the Internet and even in our Libraries and for us to go through it all in one lifetime can at times prove overwhelming, so we start to feel intimidated at the magnitude of knowledge available and we don't pursue it with such great enthusiasm thereafter.

    And Allah knows best

May Allah provide us with guidance

yes Brother i m 100% agree with you, i will explain you why people possess hard against the truth.

because of that when they are in child hood they are listening and reading, after become a part of their knowledge. and when you said to them ';o my brother you are doing wrong'; al of sudden the replay,

';they are listening 1st time like this';.

    '; or our scholar are told lie';

    and if you give them proff they will said, ';our scholar said this is wrong';

it means they don't know nothing they are saying only what they hear.

so please don't let them free please we have to guide them with our behaviour and a good Speech with knowledge.

    '; today when we have all the books, all the information right in-front of us';

They are probably too many, those ';all the books';, to be worth anything? Ever thought of that? What do these ';all the books'; tell you by the way?

Here are some samples for you:

    * During labor pains let the woman hold the hadith book, Mawatta Imam Malik for instant delivery (Thanwi, Aamal-e-Qurani).

    * Around the year 140 Al-Hijra, the tomb of the Holy Prophet needed repairs. Builders asked Imam Ja'afar Sadiq whether it was okay to climb the roof. The Imam responded, ';Maybe you will find him engaged in sex with one of his wives'; (Usool-e-Kafi, Imam Kaleeni, Kitabil Hujjat 1:452).

    * Imam Ja'afar Sadiq said, ';One who does not recognize us is a kaafir'; (Kitabash Shafi, 1:215).

    * The earth is resting on the horns of a great bull. When he shakes his head he brings earthquakes (Ibne Kathir 2:29, 50:1).

    * Then Ibne Kathir changes his mind: The earth is resting on a fish. The fish is resting on water, water on (the mountain of) Safa in Makkah, Safa on an angel, the angel on a rock, the rock on air. When the fish moves it causes earthquakes (Imam Ibne Kathir, Tafseer part I p.76).

    * If the wife is not beautiful the husband's body becomes weak (Imam Ibnil Qayyam, Tibbe-Nabawi, ';Medicine of the Prophet'; p.479).

    * Nehjul Balagha is a book believed by millions to be the most authentic on Earth after the Qur'an. This book is supposedly a collection of the speeches by Hazrat Ali. Unfortunately, the Mulla who wrote it, centuries after Hazrat Ali, ascribes such offenses to him:

v Woman is a scorpion that may please the heart but never refrains from stinging.

v Woman is all evil. The greater evil is that there is no subsistence without her.

v Women are deficient of intellect. Beware of even the good women.

    * Imam Abu Suleman Jozjani told Mohammad bin Saad, ';I was in the company of Imam Malik. Imam Malik was asked, 'Can a man have rectal intercourse with his wives.' Malik struck his head with his hand and replied 'O' dummies! I am coming directly from bath after doing that. Don't you read in the Qur'an that your wives are your tilths, go into them as you please!''; (Amdatil Qari, Tafsir Bukhari).

    * For adulterers the Qur'an ordains lashes and Hadith ordains stoning. What should be done then is 100 lashes on one day then stoning on the following day as in Hazrat Ali's time (Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, Al-Balagh-il-Maarif).

    * Take the front leg of a goat after Friday prayers. Be completely unclothed. Write Sura Yasin and the name of the person you desire. Then place the meat in a cooking pot. That person will surely fall in love with you (Mulla Ashraf Ali Thanwi, known as ';The Wise of the Nation';, Monthly ';Khalid';, Deoband Darul Uloom).

If you need more samples, feel free to search Mullah wisdom on google. There has never been any shortage of it.

I am sure you are not feeling guilty anymore for not reading ';all the books';. When Quran alone is not enough, then nothing would ever be... no matter how many hundreds of thousands of them they are... they shall never bring guidance !

As to the first part of your question - this is not true. Tens of thousands of people travel every year to the farthest parts of the world to attain knowledge, they travel thousands to miles only for the sake of knowledge, both from muslim and non-muslim countries. But only if you consider knowledge as not the monopoly of ';imams'; and mullahs.
Do not pursue that whereof you have no knowledge. Verily, the hearing and sight, and the heart, each of these will be asked (17:36)
we know it is there so we wait until tomorrow, because we know it is there, and we keep putting it off until there is no more tomorrow, until it is too late.
Those are some pretty-sounding words. They mean absolutely nothing.

no, i feel a lot of knowledge is more dangerous, because you lose sight of what's really important on your quest to evacuate issues that are so simplistic!♥
yes, a lot of people with a little knowledge think that they are experts and they don't know enough to make an educated decision.
    knowledge is a treasure. :P

    if you know to much

Can true or complete freedom, love, quality or knowledge ever be acquired?

    If not, why?

Thanks for your effort and time! :-)))Can true or complete freedom, love, quality or knowledge ever be acquired?
    ...speaking ONLY for myself...

...yes, thanks for asking...Can true or complete freedom, love, quality or knowledge ever be acquired?
    Friend,

I would like to tell you what I read once and noted down in my notes.

    A student approaches a Teacher:

';' Should I enquire into your antecedents?'' the teacher asked.

    '' I am a Banjara by birth.

All my fore fathers were decoits , until they became respectable.

I started earning and learning at the age of 17 , and even at 71 years I am at both.

I shall die a greater fool than I was born, for all the knowledge revealed what an ignorant fellow I am.''

So. friend as we sincerely progress in learning any subject, we understand what an ocean it is and what an insignificant part we know.So we understand that there is so much to know and our ignorance of that knowledge , we understand. So our education is never complete however you try whatever you do.

    That is how I feel.
No, your life can be taken from you at any second, the life of your true love can be taken, quality is in the eye of the beholder, knowledge can never be complete you can always learn something new.
The only real freedom we have is freedom of thought.
Socrates said that the only true knowledge is in knowing that we know nothing.
though we all long for it, we can never get one hundred percent of what seems to be the hardest to obtain. Just like how nobody is perfect relate to this, complete freedom, quality, and knowledge would make a perfect life.
    Truth........yes. In the Bible

    Complete freedom,,,,,,,,,no such thing

    Love..............yes

    Quality...........with contentment only

Knowledge...........the more acquired, the more desired.
True leads me to real which leads me to yes while complete leads me to finished, absolute, or finite which leads me to no.
G Absolute freedom. love, quality and knowledge need not be acquired. They are inherent in life. We just need to be willing to abandon the delusion of dichotomy and the delusion of separateness in order to open up to the grandeur.

If knowledge is warranted true belief?

Doesn't that mean that objective truth must exist in order for knowledge to be possible?

As always, thank you for your thoughtful repliesIf knowledge is warranted true belief?
Yes. There is a real truth. If I cut my finger it bleeds. This is true.

Any other logic forces you to conclude the world is completely absurd.

Now... the question of god... well that is another thing altogether. If knowledge is warranted true belief?
    As one author once stated, ';There are two absolutes: Truth IS, and it can be known.';

    One person told a friend of mine that he didn't believe in any absolutes. He said (and I quote), ';There are no absolutes!'; My friend asked him, ';Are you absolutely sure about that?';

Jesus said ';I am Truth.'; Was Jesus telling the truth when He said that? Or was He a liar?

Jesus said that the only way you can know God is through Him.

    Jesus said that He did ONLY what He saw His Father in heaven do. (No man has seen God at any time, yet Jesus SEES God and copies His behaviors, so Jesus must be something MORE than a mere man, since no MAN has seen God.) He KNEW God. He even said that He came from the very HEART of God, so He could say objectively, ';When you've seen ME, you've seen the Father.';

    Jesus also said ';I am Life';, and again, ';I am the bread of Life that has come down from My Father in heaven to give Life.';, and again, ';I am the water of life. Whoever is thirsty, come to me, and out of his inner-most being shall flow rivers of living waters';, and finally, ';I am the Resurrection and the Life. If any man believe in me, though he may die, yet shall he live again.';

    He said, ';You already believe in God, now believe in me.';

    In his famous book Mere Christianity, C. S. Lewis makes the following observation: ';A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic - on the level with a man who says he is a poached egg - or he would be the devil of hell. You must take your choice. Either this was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us.';
Actually, the only way we can tell the truth is through the justification, so this is a non-question.

To the best of your knowledge, what is the TRUE reason canibis is still illegal?

I'm hoping to gather the input of law enforcement but all are welcome to respond.

In 1989 the Supreme court ruled that ';Marijuana'; should be reclassified to schedule 2 of the CSA. However, it still remains at schedule 1 (Along with PCP) 19 years later. It's common knowledge that THC has no feasible lethal dose, yet my taxes still pay for the room and board of cannabis consumers. Who really benefits from this questionable policy? To the best of your knowledge, what is the TRUE reason canibis is still illegal?
Social inertia, the longer a law stays on the books the harder it is to get it changed. Canibis was only banned in the first place so Prohibition cops could keep their jobs once alcohol was re-legalized. Nowadays people just dismiss the idea with something like ';What next? Legalize murder?'; In any practical sense the cost to society, financially, in police man hours, in court time, in incarceration costs, not to mention the ruined lives of people who might otherwise have gone on to become valuable members of society, of keeping it illegal so outweigh any benefits that it boggles my mind. Yet we are helpless because conservatives* all over the country oppose change, even for the better, just because it's change. To the best of your knowledge, what is the TRUE reason canibis is still illegal?
    1. It is perceived as addictive.

    2. It has ';no accepted medical use.';

    3. It has been historically linked with narcotics, such as heroin.

(Narcotics Act of 1914, which regulated heroin, cocaine, and marijuana.)

    4. It is associated with unfashionable lifestyles.

    5. It was once associated with oppressed ethnic groups.

(sad, but true. This is also true for a lot of other illegal narcotics, such as heroin and cocaine).

    6. Inertia is a powerful force in public policy.

    7. Advocates for marijuana legalization rarely present an appealing case.

    8. Marijuana is often seen as a ';gateway drug.';

EDIT (to answer the question about meth)

Meth is schedule 2 because it has medicinal purposes (to treat ADHD, Narcolepsy, and extreme obesity)
don't know this for sure, but I think it is because fighting the drug war keeps a lot of people employed. I think that drugs should be legalized, taxed, and then drug dealers (the big ones) would have to operate just like a company, pay taxes, health insurance, and social security/unemployment benefits. Then switch all the people fighting the drug war to fighting the tax war, and put all of the taxes earned from the sale of drugs back into rehab programs.

Think back to when alcohol was illegal, who benefited???

    Just my opinion.
I personally believe its because the government makes more money prosecuting people for growing and shipping and selling marijuana, than they would if they made it legal. Prisons make money.
Marijuana potency has grown steeply over the past decade with serious implications for users with the average amount of THC having more than doubled.

In the same period the number of admissions to psychiatric hospital caused by the drug soared by 85 per cent due to the fact that those who smoke the drug regularly are more than twice as likely to suffer illnesses such as schizophrenia, hallucinations and delusions later in life.

Teens using marijuana to alleviate feelings of depression just compound the problem.

As well as psychotic illness cannabis can cause affective disorders such as depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts. Even worse it is linked to cancers.

Cannabis users display neuropsychological dysfunction (relative frontal lobe functioning deficits, cognitive inhibition) and attentional deficits similar to those found in schizotypal or schizophrenia patients.

Regular use can shrink the parts of the brain which control memory, emotion and aggression. The hippocampus, which is thought to govern emotion and memory averages 12 percent smaller and the amygdala, which has a part in controlling fear and aggression, 7 percent smaller. This suggests that heavy daily use may be toxic to human brain tissue.

Blood flow velocity is significantly higher in users and they have higher values on the pulsatility index (PI), which measures the amount of resistance to blood flow. This is thought to be due to narrowing of the blood vessels that occurs when the circulation system's ability to regulate itself is impaired. This leads to abnormalities in the small blood vessels in the brain.

The active chemical in MJ called delta-9-tetrahyrdocannabinol (THC) binds to cannabinoid (CB) receptors located on several cell types in various organs. This greatly increases the risk for heart attacks and strokes in addition to impaired learning and memory.

It can also effect physical health. Three to four cannabis cigarettes a day cause the same amount of damage to the lungs as 20 or more tobacco cigarettes a day. Thus there are rising levels of lung diseases such as emphysema.

In comparison to cigarettes marijuana smoke has significantly higher levels of toxic compounds, including ammonia and hydrogen cyanide. Ammonia levels are 20 times higher while hydrogen cyanide, nitric oxide and certain aromatic amines occurred at levels 3-5 times higher.

It can also effect the unborn child. Scientists have identified that endogenous cannabinoids, molecules naturally produced by our brains are functionally similar to THC from cannabis and play significant roles in establishing how certain nerve cells connect to each other. Maternal cannabis use allows THC to travel through the placenta and impair fetal brain development and impose life-long cognitive, social, and motor deficits in affected offspring.

Low doses of 脛-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), equivalent to that in the bloodstream of an average marijuana smoker facilitate infection of skin cells and can cause these cells to turn into malignant sarcoma.

In ancient England a person could not have sex unless you had consent of the King (unless you were in the Royal Family). When anyone wanted to have a baby, they got consent of the King, the King gave them a placard that they hung on their door while they were having sex. The placard had F.*.C.K. It's from fostering unnatural carnal knowledge.
Well, while Van Halen may want you to believe this, it is not true. The F word was derived from a German word meaning to strike. The actual pronunciation and spelling I am unsure of, but it's something like ';fleecken';.
It actually means Fornication Under Consent of King. In Medievel times, relations between unmarried persons could bring about punishment in the form of death.

Hanging this sign on your bedroom door exclaimed to anyone nosing around that you had acquired the King's permission to engage in sexual relations.

Can you think of any knowledge that could not be expressed in true statements?

I cannot understand your question. Please explain. Can you think of any knowledge that could not be expressed in true statements?
Knowledge: Result of absolute logical insight in recognition of the truth.

Truth: The effective compliance of knowledge with Logic, which is Creational power and the absolute of all consistancy. Can you think of any knowledge that could not be expressed in true statements?
    How about love?

I've heard when people are in love, they just know it but can't explain it.

Is ';I love you'; a true statement? How can one prove it? By buying chocolates and flowers and teddy bears? By giving up your own dreams to live in theirs? Is that hard proof or just undecipherable hieroglyphics? But it's knowledge to the one who says it and means it.

But of course, I'm just speculating here, as I have never been in love.

This arises from the principle of explosion, a law of classical logic stating that inconsistent premises always make an argument valid; that is, inconsistent premises imply any conclusion at all. This seems paradoxical, as it suggests that the above is a valid argument.

unfortunately, knowledge is usually defined as ';true justified belief'; and therefor no knowledge can be classified as ';untrue';, this example i have give is only the antithesis to truth as defined by the ';system'; used.

you can define a system of knowledge and then find the antithesis.

I personally enjoy finding them and then making jokes about what they intern define but people generally disapprove. (why...well that direction is full of things that our minds are bad at ';understanding';)

The only example I can think of is a koan. The knowledge that is learned is an intuitive awareness that comes from the shock of the mind from a (usually) meaningless statement.

Since the statements are impossible or a paradox...then I feel they lack the integrity to be declared 'true'.
Truth is a criterion of knowledge. so the answer to your Q is NO!

True or false the use of knowledge to solve practical problems is known as curiosity?

false. Curiosity is the fascination with and urge to explore the unknown or not understood.

that'd be something more like reasoning, problem solving, etc.True or false the use of knowledge to solve practical problems is known as curiosity?
    False

What is the true sign of intelligence ? Is it knowledge or imagination ?

It is recognition. Recognition of that which is beyond one's own comprehension. This is what leads to wisdom. The ultimate sign of intelligence is to actually love this condition.

That is the love of wisdom, that is the discovery of philosophy. What is the true sign of intelligence ? Is it knowledge or imagination ?
Definitely imagination because it shows that you can successfully use, apply and interpret knowledge to create something new. Having knowledge by itself doesn't show much intelligence. A computer has knowledge but it cant do anything with it unless you program it to use it a certain way. Or for example there are humans out there that are savants, they have vast amounts of knowledge and can even memorize large sequences of numbers or data but they do not understand what it is! they just know what it is.What is the true sign of intelligence ? Is it knowledge or imagination ?
Knowledge is important. Without knowledge if you imagine you can't benefit anything from your imagination. On other hand if you imagine you will work for it and gain knowledge and succeed.

It depends on person to person.True intelligence is application of knowledge. There is no use if you imagine or have knowledge you should implement your knowledge.
Imagination is essential in true intelligence. Kabbalists point out that knowledge is a personal thing (Daath), whereas wisdom and understanding are universal (transpersonal / transcendent / supernal). The two psychic faculties, Imagination and Will, are essential for creating change internally (self growth / personal development) and the result could be considered a reflection of intelligence.
it is neither, imagination is not intelligence for the obvious reason that create people can be of average intelect while intellectual people might lact imagination. and it is not Knowledge because one may devote their life to studying while someone else might devote theirs to partying but they could still be born with greater intelligence. in my view intelligence isn't what you know, it's how well your brain proccesses information, it's sort of like IQ except IQ is the very inaccurate measurement used by us humans to measure intelligence.
    Both....

See there is nothing called intelligence...

If one has learnt everythig perfectly since childhood, his knowledge is good....but if he doesnt know to apply that knowledge during a process( ie. if he cannot imagine how to use it) its a waste...

A person who has knowledge and has creativity / imagination to use it in a problem is said to be intelligent....

But intelligence is different from smartness and wit......
Chronic laziness! Intelligent people aren't lazy in the sense that they do nothing or very little for the sake of bodily comfort. They just tend not to do more than the absolute minimum necessary to achieve a certain objective. They're highly capable optimizers.

On the other hand, they use more brain power than the average individual. A truly intelligent person's brain has more internal connections. The patterns of going from A to B to C in their thinking are more diverse. Their thinking changes course more often, making its way through more devious paths. It is in this sense that they are more resourceful than others and not necessarily through being highly knowledgeable or having a fertile imagination.
Ture sign of intelligence. Well I know a lot of people who don't know much but have quite the imaginations. My own experience with this I would say you can have all the book smarts but be completely stupid when it comes to common sense issues. Then there is street smarts. I sometimes think street smarts gets you farther coupled in with great common sense and an ability to have a imagination. I guess both knowledge and imagination. I also, believe people do get wiser as they age and more beautiful, too.

    SECRETS OF LIFE (R)

    ';REAL INTELLIGENCE

'I am now aware that intelligence does not consist of a mere

collection of facts, but exactly what is real intelligence?'

'It is a freely flowing whole mind. Our task is to remove the need-

less barriers to this natural flow. Any negative thought is a barrier,

including antagonism, jealousy, self-glorification. An intelligent

    mind flows freely and quietly, like a mountain brook.'';

    There is a Way Out, p. 113
In the first place it's knowledge but not material knowledge. Higher knowledge, knowledge about the Absolute Truth, that's a true sign of intelligence.

It's also said that 'doubts' are a sign of intelligence.
Intelligence is the eagerness, and ability, to learn quickly and gather the information about life, and non-life. It is the ability to understand.
The true sign of intelligence is what you do with the knowledge you posses, imagination is what you think other people will with their knowledge.
    Good imagination...Hard work...Good planning...Strong determination...Will power...These five are signs of intelligence
true intelligence comes from wisdom not what is written in a book or what could be. knowledge and wisdom come from experience
Knowledge is knowing things. Wisdom is knowing where to use that knowledge..

How about Imaginative knowledge for your question..?
Intelligence is knowing we do not have an answer but that one does exist and to seek for it using man's present knowledge and imagination.
Knowledge is nothing if you can't put it in practice. And to put it in practice you need imagination.
    Imagination...
    Knowledge...

And the way of mastering and manipulating it...

    Cheers!!!!!!!!
It is knowledge along with imagination combined creativity.
    That would depend on how one defines ';intelligence.';
    imagination
It is always in finger tips.
    It's both and then some.
How about all of the above?
