Minibulldogs, to my knowledge, are english bulldog bread with a pug. Evrything says this has less prblms-True?

I am looking into getting a mini bulldog, which to my knowledge is an english bulldog bread with a pug. This supposedly has less problems than a traditional English Bulldog. Is there any truth to this?

Thanks for your help

Possibly the worse crossbreeding anyone could ever attempt - both breeds are known for severe respiratory problems because of their flat faces, numerous skin conditions and hip problems. Combining two such breeds could never make the mix healthier. If you want a healthy Bulldog or Pug, buy from a responsible breeder who only breeds healthy dogs, not someone who tries to mix the two.

The link you've provided though actually says that the 'club' does not endorse mixing Bulldogs with any other breed - they're simply breeding small Bulldogs, which is still problematic in itself.Minibulldogs, to my knowledge, are english bulldog bread with a pug. It clearly states on their website that these are english bulldogs selected for a small size and that they do not condone hybrids of english bulldogs (mixed with pug, boston terriers etc). Any of the brachycephalic breeds (short faced) are likely to have problems and I don't think that overall miniature english bulldogs will have fewer problems then any other brachycephalic breed. Be prepared to spend a lot of money to buy a bulldog and then at least twice that on vet bills. I love my english and french bulldogs but if I wasn't a vet i couldn't afford to keep all 4.
Please don't buy into this ';designer'; puppy. The miniture bulldog is not a breed of dog. It sounds like they take the smallest bulldogs and are breeding them to keep making smaller bulldogs. There is something wrong with this. According to the AKC, the bulldog has a standard, they are taking dogs that do not meet AKC standards and breeding them. I totally disagree with this. Pick either a purebred bulldog or a purebred pug. I have never heard of mixing the two, but do your research on the breeds, and pick one. Don't buy the ';designer'; puppy.
according to the MBCOA they do not accept hybrid mix for the MB. they are against it. it sounds like a young club working to improve the original MB. the MB were very popular in France many yrs. ago. if you are thinking of one keep in mind as the club says they are just bred down versions of the reg. bulldog. i can't see how you would get fewer health problems.

they caution against buying from ad's or Internet. that is where you get the hybrids. if you are interested then get the real thing from a club breeder.
A pug and a bulldog is just a mix..No such thing as a mini bulldog...There are English bulldogs French bulldogs and American bulldogs a mix is just a mix with a fancy name and a big over priced amount for a mix dog...Save your money don't fall for those lies of so called breeders there goal is to rip people off choose what breed you want and go for it don't get pipped off...
Well I am on the other end of everyone else.. I have owned two bull-pugs, boy and girl. If you go to www.dogbreedinfo.com my little one is the dog that comes up on the page. Mine were a little different i what they are actually mixed with. yes they are bulldog and pug but the mom and dad were also bull-pug, so it wasnt like just breeding a bulldog and pug father, they were 5th generation so way back is when the two individual breeds were mixed together. I also think that it is not a wise idea to mix two of any breed that are known or prone to have health issues. People mix boston terrier, pug, and french bulldogs with the english to have them ';stay small';. no such thing, you ar just getting a health problem on down the road. I do have to tell you though, I never had a problem with my Marian as far as any health related problems. She did just pass March 3rd and she had developed an enlarged heart, but she was the best dog ever!!!!! I rescued my girl and boy so they werent bred to death. I have pure bred English Bulldogs(4) also and let me tell you the vet bills can be crazy for them.

I guess it is up to you to take the chance on getting a mix and then having tons of health problems. who knows you may get one like me who never has an issue..
UGH!!! are you kidding me? ANOTHER designer mutt? wow, i could never win. IT'S A MUTT! don't pay 39047234 dollars for a mutt.

But to answer your question no it won't be a healthy dog at all since both bulldogs and pugs have flat faces they have alot of respiratory problems.
ok look up pug deseise and defects the list is loger then the bull dog pugs are more breed then the bull dogs who can range for a pet up to 3000 a pug top price even for show would be 1200-1500 for a pet 600-800
HMMMM... i have never heard of these dogs until now, but the first answer is correct. the smaller, the more health issues. i would be very careful.
Major falsehood.

Breeding for small size, especially in a breed already faced with numerous genetic issues, creates very unhealthy dogs.
